I want every single person leaving our gym feeling amazing and as a result, return home full of positive energy and motivation to live the life you love. I'm passionate about building relationships and encouraging others to be the best they can be. I am no stranger to the Crossfit community. I started my journey back in 2012. The workouts are great but what attracted me the most to Crossfit is the community and the people. CrossFit Level 1 CrossFit Level 2

Our gym combines every aspect of exercise science, ensuring that you get the results you want. We offer proven workouts to build energy and endurance. We combine that with sensible eating plans that help you hit that sweet spot where you lose fat while you gain muscle.

Joe Gorton

I walked into CrossFit201 for the first time on a cold April morning in 2012. I didn't know what to expect, but what I got was a challenging workout and a fun time with great people. I played baseball in college, and the support that I got from the coaches and other members at CrossFit201 made me feel like I was on a team again. I started coaching because I love helping other people reach their potential.

At CrossFit201 I have the opportunity to work with a wide range of athletes, from beginners to seasoned pros. The one constant is that everyone is trying to improve and get better than they were yesterday. My goal is to motivate all athletes through a safe, effective workout every single class. Coaching really is the best part of my day. Certifications: CrossFit Level 1 Trainer | NASM Certified Personal Trainer

Before I ever walked through the doors of CrossFit 201, my passion for health and fitness began as a kid playing ice hockey. I was fascinated with how strength training and eating right could have such a big impact on my performance on the ice. Since hockey is such a fast-paced, physical sport, I needed to balance proper training, nutrition and rest. As I got older and the opportunity to continue playing sports became smaller, I was still looking to be involved with strength training.

I continued to work out and teach TRX classes, but decided to take a class at CrossFit 201 for a change of pace. The constantly varied workouts were exactly what I was looking for. As a coach at CrossFit 201, I look forward to helping others reach their own goals the same way the other coaches of 201 have helped me accomplish mine. Certifications: CrossFit Level 1

Alex Hofbauer

Working out has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. By the age of 12, I was trained in Olympic Weightlifting and powerlifting and started competing in fitness competitions a few years later.

I firmly believe that no matter what your current state is you can improve yourself, both mentally and physically, through a proper conditioning and training program.

This lifelong personal pursuit has led me into coaching. I enjoy helping people and watching their progress. From teaching youth soccer to being a Certified Crossfit L1 trainer and instructing group fitness classes and personal training sessions, I feel success in watching others exceed their own goals.

I joined the CrossFit 201 coaching staff in September 2022. I started doing CrossFit in 2015. I immediately enjoyed the workouts as they were fun, challenging, and never the same. What I didn't expect from CrossFit was my appreciation for the concepts and principles for which it is based upon. As a physical therapist, I felt a strong link between those concepts and what I do as a therapist. That is: optimizing health and fitness for all people, of all ages, and all ability levels. At that point, I knew I wanted to become a coach. I received CrossFit Level 1 certification and began coaching in 2016.

Outside of the box, I own a private practice Physical Therapy clinic, with a major focus on restoring movement quality in order to allow for tissue healing and injury recovery. Wanting to support the FLOW community, my clinic is located in Franklin Lakes.

I’m an Oakland resident, with my wife and 3 kids. When I’m not in the clinic or coaching, I’m most likely driving my kids around northern New Jersey and supporting them in their academic and athletic endeavors.
