WOD… WAD… WHAT?!
At CrossFit 201 we train for excellence of body and mind. Our program relies on constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity for maximum effectiveness. There is no “weekly lifting schedule” or “ daily hour of cardio.” Instead, CrossFit athletes worldwide complete the same Workout of the Day (fondly deemed: the WOD) every day. WODs are comprised of a unique combination of gymnastics, weightlifting and cardiovascular exercises to elicit the highest levels of physical aptitude and mental toughness. We guarantee that our training will make you stronger and fitter on every playing field, and that you will not be bored in the process!
The Box. Where do you think?
Not your typical gym, CrossFit 201 is the most well-equipped facility in the tri-state area. Our Box is over 7,000 square feet of professionally designed space with room to run, jump, swing, climb, row, crawl, lift and flip. You won’t find a single row of treadmills, floors overcrowded with bulky machines, or full-length mirrors covering the wall. In their place you’ll find 1,000lb tires, 15’ climbing ropes, gymnastics rings, Olympic barbells, and an extensive collection of kettlebells. Chances are pretty good that you’ve been to the gym at least once in your life. And chances are even greater that you weren’t too happy with your experience there. The competition for the treadmill is cutthroat, the lifters claim every squat rack and bench within a thirty-foot radius, and the only thing you can see in the mirror is a rolled up sleeve baring a flexed bicep. If that’s your thing, fine. If not, welcome to CrossFit 201. We pride ourselves on our community and honor the success of one athlete as the success of all athletes. If you think you’re too young, too old, too strong, too weak, too fit or too out of shape for CrossFit, we have news for you: you’re not! Our athletes range from marathon runners and competitive athletes to individuals who have never set foot in a gym or lifted more than a TV remote. The very nature of our program is one of universality and scalability, meaning that whatever your current fitness level, CrossFit training is guaranteed to get you into the best shape of your life. We meet you where you’re at and expertly guide you to reach peak levels of performance.
Records are Made for Breaking
You can’t measure progress if you don’t know where you began. For this reason, it is vital that you record your workouts and track your progress. Aside from the personal attention offered by our coaches and the oversized white boards hanging on the walls, CrossFit 201 provides a customized tracking program to make this process less painful than any WOD. Kids bouncing of the walls? Bring them to the Box! Our CrossFit Kids program offers workouts scaled to accommodate and challenge children of all fitness levels. Our focus on functional movement fosters the development of physical skills and strength in children and teens. Outside the Box
Contrary to popular opinion, there’s more to achieving optimal fitness than just the number of hours spent working out in the Box. Without proper nutrition, every drop of sweat will be wasted.
